SEND Teacher – Complex Needs & Inclusive Learning
Uxbridge | Full-Time or Part-Time | September Start
MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance
The right teacher can change a life.
In specialist education, success isn't always measured by test scores. It's the pupil who communicates a choice for the first time. The learner who builds enough confidence to engage with their peers. The young person who achieves something they were once told was impossible.
Supply Desk is proud to be working with a remarkable specialist school in Uxbridge that is seeking an exceptional SEND Teacher to join its passionate and dedicated team. This is an opportunity for an educator who believes that every child deserves the chance to thrive, regardless of the challenges they face.
The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs including Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Autism, communication needs, and complex learning profiles. Through a highly personalised and nurturing approach, staff work together to unlock potential, develop independence, and create meaningful opportunities for every learner.
Why This Role Matters
The demand for outstanding SEND professionals has never been greater. Schools across the country are increasingly recognising the importance of specialist education, and this setting is leading the way by providing an environment where pupils are encouraged, empowered, and celebrated every step of the way.
As a SEND Teacher, you'll be entrusted with helping young people develop essential communication skills, life skills, emotional resilience, and confidence. You'll create learning experiences that are ambitious, engaging, and accessible, ensuring every pupil feels successful and valued.
This isn't simply a teaching role—it's an opportunity to make a lasting difference.
What You'll Be Doing
- Delivering creative and highly personalised lessons that meet individual learning needs.
- Creating engaging learning experiences that develop communication, independence, and confidence.
- Using innovative strategies including sensory learning, visual supports, structured routines, and alternative communication methods.
- Supporting pupils to achieve meaningful outcomes outlined within their EHCPs.
- Working closely with teaching assistants to provide an outstanding learning experience.
- Assessing and celebrating progress through small-step achievements.
- Building positive relationships with pupils, families, therapists, and external professionals.
- Promoting emotional wellbeing, personal development, and social interaction.
- Creating a classroom culture where every pupil feels safe, respected, and able to achieve.
Who We're Looking For
You may already be an experienced SEND Teacher, or perhaps you're a mainstream teacher looking to bring your skills into specialist education.
Most importantly, you'll be someone who:
- Has a genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs.
- Believes every learner can succeed when given the right support.
- Brings patience, creativity, resilience, and positivity to the classroom.
- Has experience working with SEND pupils or a strong desire to develop within specialist education.
- Can adapt teaching approaches to meet a diverse range of learning needs.
- Enjoys collaborating with colleagues and contributing to a wider team around the child.
- Holds QTS or relevant teaching experience.
