Our salaried SEND teacher training programme offers a structured route from classroom support to qualified teaching, combining practical experience, professional development and teacher training.

TWO YEARS. ONE CLEAR PATHWAY TO TEACHING.

YEAR 1 — GAIN EXPERIENCE

Start as a SEND Teaching Assistant in a school in Oxford.

You'll work closely with experienced teachers and specialist staff, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs. You'll gain valuable experience in:

• Supporting learning and development
• One-to-one and small-group support
• Communication and independence
• Positive behaviour strategies
• Adapting activities to individual needs
• Building effective relationships with pupils
• Working as part of a wider school team

You'll receive ongoing guidance and mentoring while developing the practical knowledge and confidence needed to progress into teacher training.

And you'll earn a salary while you learn.

YEAR 2 — TRAIN TO BECOME A TEACHER

Following successful completion of Year 1, you'll progress onto Initial Teacher Training (ITT).

You'll develop your skills in lesson planning, teaching, assessment, classroom management and adapting learning to meet the needs of individual pupils.

With expert mentoring and continued support, you'll work towards achieving:

PGCE + QTS

On successful completion, you'll be ready to begin your career as a qualified SEND teacher.

We're looking for people who are passionate about helping children achieve their potential.

You'll need to be enthusiastic, patient, resilient and committed to inclusive education. A degree is required for the teacher training pathway, with previous experience working with children or young people highly desirable.

Most importantly, you should be ready to learn, develop and take on the responsibility of becoming an excellent teacher.
