Role Overview & Core Impact
Individual Support: Provide 1:1, small group, or whole-class support to students with diverse needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and MLD.

Flexibility: Seamlessly step into different specialized provisions and mainstream SEND departments across The Wirral for daily, short-term, or planned long-term placements.

Enable Learning: Help scaffold tasks, break down instructions, and implement tailored strategies to help students access the curriculum at their own pace.

Positive Environment: Build strong rapport, assist with positive behavior management, and utilize de-escalation techniques to ensure a calm, safe, and nurturing learning environment.

Requirements
Qualifications (Desirable): A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools certificate, or relevant qualifications in Health & Social Care, Childcare, or Youth Work. Specialist SEN training (e.g., Team-Teach, Makaton, PECS, or Autism Awareness) is highly advantageous.

Experience: Previous experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant, or in roles such as a Care Worker, Youth Worker, Inclusion Assistant, or Behavior Mentor supporting young people with complex needs.

Skills: High levels of patience, empathy, adaptability, and strong communication skills.

Mindset: A proactive, resilient, and caring approach to supporting vulnerable learners.

Compliance: An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).

Location: Based in or easily able to commute to schools throughout The Wirral.
