We are excited to be recruiting for a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Stechford, Birmingham, supporting children within the school's dedicated resource base.

About the role:
- Full-time position, Monday to Friday
- Working within the school's specialist resource base
- Providing tailored support to pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- Supporting pupils both academically and socially to help them access learning successfully
- Working closely with teachers, SEND professionals, and the wider inclusion team
- Helping to create a positive, engaging, and structured learning environment

What we're looking for:
We are looking for a compassionate, patient, and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs. You will have a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a commitment to helping every child achieve success.
You will:
- Have recent experience supporting children with SEND within a school, specialist setting, or resource base
- Have a strong understanding of additional needs, including Autism, Speech and Language Needs, and Learning Difficulties
- Be confident supporting pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Be able to build positive and trusting relationships with children
- Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
- Demonstrate patience, empathy, and resilience in your approach
- Work effectively alongside teachers, SENDCOs, therapists, and support staff
- Be confident implementing support strategies and interventions
- Have strong behaviour management and communication skills
- Be committed, reliable, and flexible
- Ideally be local to the area or able to travel easily
Experience supporting pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) would be advantageous, but is not essential.
