SEND Teaching Assistant
Provide Education- South Yorkshire
This is a full-time, long-term position, supporting pupils within a mainstream classroom environment. The role may involve working on a 1:1 basis or with small groups, depending on the needs of the school.
The school has a strong focus on inclusive practice and pupil support, with a collaborative staff team and clear support structures in place, making it an excellent opportunity for a SEN Teaching Assistant looking to develop their experience in a mainstream setting.

- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or SEN Teaching Assistant
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND in a mainstream school setting
- Understanding of needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH or speech and language difficulties
- Ability to build strong, supportive relationships with pupils
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- A patient, resilient and nurturing approach
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs
- Adapt learning activities to support different learning styles
- Support the class teacher in delivering inclusive lessons
- Help manage behaviour using consistent and supportive strategies
- Encourage engagement, independence and confidence
- Work closely with the SENCO, class teacher and wider support staff
