Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are seeking caring, patient and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to work in welcoming Primary Schools across St Helens.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to access learning, build confidence and achieve their full potential.
The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assist children with a range of SEND needs, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH and learning difficulties
- Help implement individual learning and behaviour support plans
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals
- Encourage positive relationships, engagement and independence
- Create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for candidates who:
- Have experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals
- Have experience supporting SEND pupils in a school, care, youth work or similar setting
- Are patient, adaptable and resilient
- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Are passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning
- Hold a Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)

Essential Requirements
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
