SEND Teaching Assistant - Mainstream Primary School - Colchester

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND teaching assistant to join our successful three form entry mainstream primary school in Colchester. As a SEND teaching assistant, you will support pupils with a range of special educational needs within a mainstream primary setting. You may work on a one-to-one basis with a specific pupil or provide support to a small group of children, helping them access learning and achieve their individual targets.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting pupils with SEND during lessons and school activities
• Delivering targeted interventions and small group support sessions
• Working closely with class teachers to adapt learning activities and resources
• Encouraging pupils' confidence, independence, and participation in learning
• Supporting social, emotional, and behavioural development
• Assisting pupils in overcoming barriers to learning
• Monitoring progress and feeding back to teaching staff
• Helping to create an inclusive and positive classroom environment
• Contributing to high standards of education and training across the school

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with children, ideally within a school or SEND setting
• Is patient, adaptable, and resilient
• Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Is committed to helping children achieve their full potential
• Has a genuine passion for education and training

• Full-time position, 5 days per week
• Working hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm
• Daily rate: £95-£100 per day, dependent on experience
