Salary: £92.65 - £110 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming mainstream primary school based in Birmingham, Lozells, who are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school is committed to creating an inclusive learning environment where all pupils are supported to reach their full potential, with a strong focus on care, consistency, and emotional development.

This SEND Teaching Assistant role will involve working 5 days per week, supporting pupils who are non-verbal and have SEMH needs within a mainstream classroom setting. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will be required to work between 8:15am and 3:45pm daily, providing tailored 1:1 and small group support. The role will also include personal care duties, alongside helping pupils regulate emotions and engage with learning activities.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:
• Experience working with children with SEND, particularly SEMH and non-verbal needs
• Previous experience in a school or care-based setting (preferred)
• A calm, patient and resilient approach
• Willingness and confidence to support with personal care
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• A proactive and supportive attitude within the classroom
