Salary: £95 to £120 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEN school in Wolverhampton that provides a supportive and structured learning environment for secondary-aged students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (SEBD). The school is committed to promoting positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and personalised learning, ensuring every student is given the opportunity to succeed both academically and personally.

The school is looking to appoint a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis with the opportunity to secure a permanent position. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will support secondary-aged students with SEMH and SEBD, working both on a 1:1 basis and within small groups to encourage engagement, manage behaviour positively and promote independence while supporting pupils to reach their individual goals.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH and SEBD

• Experience working with secondary-aged pupils within an SEN or specialist setting

• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills

• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

• A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs

• Team Teach training is desirable but not essential

• Must have a valid DBS on the Update Service
