Vision for Education are working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Blackburn to recruit an SEND Teaching Assistant – Blackburn, Lancashire. This rewarding SEND Teaching Assistant – Blackburn, Lancashire role is due to start in September 2026 and will continue for the 2026/27 academic year, with the potential for a permanent position in 2027 for the right candidate.
The Role – SEND Teaching Assistant – Blackburn, LancashireAs an SEND Teaching Assistant – Blackburn, Lancashire, you will be supporting pupils within an Early Years setting on a 1:1 basis. This SEND Teaching Assistant – Blackburn, Lancashire role will involve working closely with children who have additional needs, including non-verbal pupils with autism and speech and language difficulties.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with SEND in Key Stage 1
- Supporting non-verbal pupils, including those with autism and speech, language and communication needs
- Assisting with the delivery of tailored learning activities and interventions
- Promoting engagement, independence and emotional wellbeing
- Working collaboratively with class teachers and the wider SEND team
