We are currently recruiting for an experienced SEND Assessment Team Manager to join a Local Authority in Northeast London.

Assignment Details

💰 £400 per day
📍 North East London
🏢 2 days per week in the office
📅 Interim contract

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strong operational leadership and oversight of the SEND Assessment Team.
• Manage assessment and workloads across the team.
• Track cases against statutory deadlines and improve overall timeliness.
• Identify and unblock delays within the assessment process.
• Monitor team performance and ensure cases are progressing effectively.
• Provide effective line management, support and direction to SEND Officers.
• Support wider service improvement across the statutory assessment process.

About You

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

• A minimum of 1 year's proven leadership experience within a Local Authority SEND service.
• Strong knowledge of the statutory EHC needs assessment process.
• Experience managing SEND Assessment / Case Officer teams.
• A track record of improving performance and statutory timeliness.
• Strong operational management and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to quickly identify issues, unblock cases and provide clear direction to teams.
