SEND Tutor – Full Time

We are seeking a passionate and experienced SEND Tutor to support learners with learning difficulties and disabilities (LDD/SEND) in a dynamic and supportive educational environment.

This is a rewarding opportunity for an individual committed to helping young people develop independence, achieve qualifications, and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare engaging course and training materials
  • Deliver GCSE and Functional Skills in Maths and English, including embedded learning
  • Conduct initial assessments and diagnostics (including English and maths)
  • Maintain accurate learner records and complete all required documentation in a timely manner
  • Ensure programmes meet quality standards for IQA and EQA requirements
  • Support learners with SEND across a variety of classroom settings
  • Implement and lead positive behaviour management strategies
  • Monitor and review Individual Learning Plans (ILPs)
  • Promote independence, confidence, and self-help skills in learners
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/carers, and external professionals
  • Attend networking events to promote provision (where required)

Essential Requirements:

  • Recognised teaching qualification
  • Minimum Level 2 Maths and English (GCSE Grade 4 or equivalent)
  • Experience delivering GCSE/Functional Skills Maths and English
  • Experience working with young people with SEND and/or behavioural needs
  • Strong behaviour management skills and ability to handle challenging situations
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A flexible, proactive, and resilient approach

Desirable:

  • Level 5 teaching qualification
  • SEND or behaviour-related qualifications
  • Experience in an educational or specialist setting
  • Strong IT skills

Full UK driving licence and access to own transport
