SEND Tutor – Full Time
We are seeking a passionate and experienced SEND Tutor to support learners with learning difficulties and disabilities (LDD/SEND) in a dynamic and supportive educational environment.
This is a rewarding opportunity for an individual committed to helping young people develop independence, achieve qualifications, and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare engaging course and training materials
- Deliver GCSE and Functional Skills in Maths and English, including embedded learning
- Conduct initial assessments and diagnostics (including English and maths)
- Maintain accurate learner records and complete all required documentation in a timely manner
- Ensure programmes meet quality standards for IQA and EQA requirements
- Support learners with SEND across a variety of classroom settings
- Implement and lead positive behaviour management strategies
- Monitor and review Individual Learning Plans (ILPs)
- Promote independence, confidence, and self-help skills in learners
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/carers, and external professionals
- Attend networking events to promote provision (where required)
Essential Requirements:
- Recognised teaching qualification
- Minimum Level 2 Maths and English (GCSE Grade 4 or equivalent)
- Experience delivering GCSE/Functional Skills Maths and English
- Experience working with young people with SEND and/or behavioural needs
- Strong behaviour management skills and ability to handle challenging situations
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A flexible, proactive, and resilient approach
Desirable:
- Level 5 teaching qualification
- SEND or behaviour-related qualifications
- Experience in an educational or specialist setting
- Strong IT skills

Full UK driving licence and access to own transport
