TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming mainstream primary school in Exmouth that is committed to providing an inclusive learning environment where every pupil can achieve their full potential. The school has a supportive leadership team and places a strong emphasis on collaboration, wellbeing and delivering outstanding support for children with additional needs.

The school is looking to appoint a dedicated SENDCo on a temporary basis with the opportunity for a permanent position for the right SENDCo. The successful SENDCo will lead and coordinate SEND provision across the school, work closely with staff, parents and external agencies, oversee EHCPs and ensure pupils with additional needs receive the support required to thrive both academically and socially.

The successful SENDCo will have:

• QTS and the National Award for SEN Coordination (or be working towards it)
• Previous experience as a SENDCo or leading SEND provision within a UK school
• Excellent knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• The ability to work collaboratively with staff, families and external professionals
• A proactive, inclusive and child-centred approach
