Senior Accountant-Accountancy Practice

Salary: £35,000–£45,000
Location: Liverpool

What will you be doing?

You’ll take ownership of a portfolio of ambitious owner-managed businesses, acting as a trusted point of contact and delivering a high-quality, commercially focused service.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing a portfolio of clients and building strong, trusted relationships
• Preparing and delivering meaningful management information
• Helping clients understand their financial performance and make informed business decisions
• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts and corporation tax returns
• Overseeing VAT returns and ensuring work is completed accurately and on time
• Using Xero and other cloud-accounting tools to improve processes and provide useful insight
• Supporting and reviewing the work of junior team members where appropriate
• Maintaining high standards of accuracy, professionalism and client service

What are we looking for?

This opportunity would suit a newly qualified or qualified accountant who has developed a strong technical foundation within an accountancy practice and is ready to take greater ownership of client relationships and advisory work.

You will have:

• A newly qualified or qualified ACA or ACCA
• Relevant experience gained within an accountancy practice
• Strong experience preparing statutory accounts and corporation tax returns
• Experience producing management information and explaining financial performance to clients
• Strong knowledge of Xero and cloud-accounting systems
• Excellent attention to detail and the confidence to take ownership of deadlines
• A genuine interest in how businesses operate and grow
• A confident, professional and personable approach
