Senior Accountant

We're working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Liverpool who are looking to add an Accountant to their team. They have a strong reputation locally and offer a supportive environment where people are encouraged to develop rather than getting stuck doing the same work year after year.

The role will give you exposure to a varied portfolio of SME and owner-managed clients, covering accounts, tax, VAT and bookkeeping. You'll have plenty of client contact and the opportunity to build relationships and become a trusted point of contact.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing year-end accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.

• Preparing VAT returns, management accounts and tax returns.

• Looking after a portfolio of SME and owner-managed clients.

• Dealing directly with clients and handling day-to-day queries.

• Assisting clients with bookkeeping and cloud accounting software.

• Working closely with the wider team and supporting clients with their accounting needs.

What we're looking for

• Previous experience within a UK accountancy practice.

• Experience preparing accounts for a range of SME clients.

• Good knowledge of VAT, bookkeeping and general practice work.

• AAT qualified, ACCA/ACA part-qualified or qualified, or qualified through experience.

• Someone personable and confident with clients who wants to continue developing their career.
