This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced acoustician who is looking for greater autonomy, responsibility and involvement in a genuinely varied range of projects.

The successful candidate will join a close-knit specialist team delivering acoustic consultancy services across the UK, working with clients across the residential, commercial, industrial, healthcare, education and development sectors.

Unlike many larger multidisciplinary consultancies, this position offers the opportunity to become involved throughout the complete project lifecycle, develop strong client relationships and play an important role in the continued growth of the acoustics team.

Requirements

Candidates should ideally have:

  • 4+ years' experience within an acoustic consultancy environment
  • A degree in Acoustics, Physics or another relevant discipline and/or the IOA Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control
  • Strong knowledge of environmental and/or building acoustics
  • Experience undertaking environmental noise surveys and assessments
  • Experience using acoustic modelling software such as CadnaA, SoundPLAN, INSUL, ODEON or similar
  • Experience preparing fee proposals and project costings
  • A full UK driving licence

Duties

As a Senior Acoustic Consultant, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing and delivering acoustic consultancy projects across the UK
  • Planning and undertaking environmental noise monitoring surveys
  • Completing noise impact assessments for planning and development projects
  • Providing acoustic design and mitigation advice
  • Undertaking acoustic modelling and calculations
  • Preparing high-quality technical reports
  • Managing project programmes, budgets and client expectations
  • Preparing proposals, quotations and tenders
  • Liaising with developers, architects, engineers, local authorities and other stakeholders

Benefits

The successful candidate can expect:

  • Competitive salary dependent on experience
  • Hybrid and flexible working opportunities
  • Private healthcare
  • Generous holiday allowance with increased entitlement for length of service
  • Strong CPD and professional development support
  • Support towards professional membership and further qualifications
  • Exposure to a wide variety of environmental and building acoustics projects
  • Excellent opportunity for further progression
  • A friendly, close-knit working environment
  • The opportunity to take ownership of projects rather than simply completing one element of larger schemes

This position would suit an experienced Acoustic Consultant or Senior Acoustic Consultant who is looking to step into a role offering more responsibility, technical variety and long-term progression.
