Overview
We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Senior Acoustic Consultant to join our client's expanding team based in London. This is a full-time, hybrid role offering the chance to work on a wide variety of projects across the Buildings, Environment, and Transportation sectors, primarily within the UK. Our team has been involved in iconic projects such as the redevelopment of Earls Court, the restoration of the St. Paul's Cathedral Wren Centre and Bell Tower, and the expansion of St. Pancras International Station.

Responsibilities
As a Senior Acoustic Consultant, your main responsibilities will include:
- Conducting baseline environmental noise and vibration surveys, along with benchmark testing of existing buildings.
- Applying standards such as BS 4142, BS 8233, BS 5228, and ProPG across projects.
- Preparing technical reports for planning and design purposes.
- Carrying out acoustic modelling using tools such as CADNA/A and Odeon.
- Managing your own workload and overseeing project delivery.
- Preparing Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for residential, masterplan, road, bridge, and industrial projects.
- Conducting site inspections and pre-completion testing (PCT) on building projects.
- Collaborating with internal teams, including Environment and Health, and Buildings teams.
- Drafting fee proposals, tracking resources, and monitoring project profitability.
- Liaising with architects and other specialists to incorporate acoustic requirements into project designs.
- Providing technical support to colleagues while contributing to team success and growth.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should have:
- A degree in Acoustics or a related field, or an IOA Diploma/Master's Degree.
- A full, valid driving licence.
- Relevant experience in acoustic consultancy.
- A proven track record in project delivery and workload management.
- A commitment to pursuing Chartered Engineer (CEng) status (or already hold it).
- Associate Membership of the Institute of Acoustics (working towards MIOA).
- Proficiency in CADNA-A software; familiarity with Odeon would be an advantage.
Essential personal attributes include strong communication and organisational skills, commercial awareness, and an aptitude for building and maintaining client relationships. You should be capable of meeting deadlines and consistently delivering work of a high standard.
Day-to-Day
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Conducting site visits to carry out noise and vibration surveys.
- Producing detailed technical reports and acoustic models.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to integrate acoustic solutions into project designs.
- Managing project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
- Engaging with clients and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are fulfilled.
- Supporting junior team members and contributing to their professional development.
