Job Title: Senior Administrator Fixed Term Mat leave July 2026 - October 2027
Purpose of role: To provide effective administrative support that ensures the smooth and efficient daily operation of the school. To manage key processes, systems, and communications that support staff, students, and carers/families and contribute to a well organised learning environment.
Working with: Senior Leadership Team and colleagues at Wings School Notts, Kedleston Management Team, families/carers, visitors
Reporting to: Office Manager
Wings School Notts, part of Kedleston Group, is an independent specialist school offering education to children age 9 to 17 who are on the autistic spectrum and are struggling in education and to fit in at mainstream or other specialist settings.
Responsibilities and Professional Duties
General
To ensure smooth administration of the school by providing a confidential administrative and telephone support service to the school, Reporting to the office manager
Attendance
- Complete process of attendance and liaise with the authorities when collecting attendance figures.
- Provide attendance data for Governance and as required by Kedleston Management team
- Provide daily attendance summaries to SLT
- Update attendance action plans and create and support attendance meetings with staff/students when necessary
- Analyse end of half term attendance figures and send attendance letters accordingly to parents/carers/social workers/virtual schools.
Training
- Maintain the training matrix and contact staff when individual training needs to be renewed.
- Upload training certificates to electronic personnel records.
Policies
- Update and localise policies for Wings School as required.
- Update the Work Force Census when new staff start at Wings Notts.
- Distribute policies and other documents for staff sign off as requested by Office Manager
Professional Conduct
- Ensure the safeguarding, and promotion of the welfare of all children in accordance with Wings’ ‘Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy’ and all associated Policies and procedures
- Ensure the health & safety of children and staff by adhering to Wings School’s Health and Safety Policy
- Develop effective professional and collaborative relationships with colleagues throughout Kedleston Group
- Conduct duties in such a way that promotes a positive work environment
Training and Development
- Participate in arrangements for your induction, supervision, appraisal and training & development
- Undertake qualifications deemed necessary to fulfil the requirements of the post
- Regularly review your own working methods and practice.
