About the Role
anzuk Education is recruiting for a highly organised and proactive Senior Administrator to join an Ofsted Outstanding secondary school in Islington. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity starting ASAP. School experience is essential.
We are seeking an experienced school administrator with a strong background in supporting the day-to-day running of a busy secondary school. The successful candidate will be professional, organised and confident managing attendance, welfare, front-of-house responsibilities and administrative support for Heads of Year.
Candidates must hold an Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one at registration.
We will accept candidates with a maximum of a one-week notice period.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and monitor student attendance, including updating records, identifying absences and following up with parents and carers where required

Support student welfare, dealing professionally and sensitively with day-to-day pastoral and wellbeing matters

Provide administrative support to Heads of Year (HOY) and wider pastoral teams

Produce, maintain and distribute reports, records and key school documentation

Manage professional correspondence with parents and carers, including letters, emails and other communications
-
Cover front of house/reception, welcoming visitors, answering enquiries and acting as a professional first point of contact for the school

Maintain accurate student information and update school systems, including attendance, contact and pastoral records

Liaise effectively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, parents, carers and external professionals

Support the preparation and organisation of meetings, documentation and follow-up actions

Assist with general school administration, including admissions, compliance and wider office duties

Support the organisation of whole-school events, open evenings and school functions

Maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive student and family information professionally
Requirements

Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply through anzuk

Available ASAP for a full-time role (maximum two-week notice period)

Minimum of six months’ experience working within a UK school in an administrative role

Experience managing or supporting school attendance and student records

Strong organisational and time-management skills

Excellent written and verbal communication, particularly when communicating with parents and carers

Experience using Microsoft Office and school systems (Arbor/SIMS desirable)

Ability to remain calm, professional and adaptable within a busy secondary school environment
