Synergy is a Scientific Services provider with customers across the life sciences. Our team at Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) supports the Analytical Leadership and Testing (ALT) function within the Regulated Analytical Sciences and Operations (RASO) department.

The role will be based in the newly opened, state-of-the-art laboratories at Moreton, and will involve working closely with customer lab leads and scientific teams to deliver all aspects of the analytical testing

of drug substances, intermediates and finished medicines in line with the requirements of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).

We are seeking highly motivated and organised individuals with expertise in instrumental methods, including HPLC, dissolution testing, and Karl Fischer, in a GMP environment.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:



Operational

  • Plan, execute and troubleshoot analytical activities in compliance with customer procedures, using:
    • HPLC
    • Karl Fischer titration o Dissolution testing o Other techniques as appropriate
  • Check and approve experimental data and results
  • Apply knowledge to analytical technical problems and laboratory investigations
  • Evaluate and feedback on new development analytical methods
  • Perform analytical method validation experiments
  • Provide input into audit readiness for internal and external regulatory inspections
  • Ensure analytical records follow cGMP requirements and ALCOA+ principles
  • Be responsible for the safety of self and others
  • Proactively identify issues and appropriate actions to address
  • Lead or contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, applying structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g. Lean, root cause analysis tools)
  • Execute tasks according to regulatory, statutory, or client defined standards and requirements
  • Actively participate in Synergy training and performance review processes
  • Other duties as reasonably requested by the Synergy Team Leader



Customer

  • Develop and maintain excellent customer relationships, always ensuring that you act in a professional manner whilst performing your duties or whilst you are representing Synergy any capacity
  • Be accountable for ensuring that all activities are delivered demonstrating behaviours and values aligned to Synergy's Code of Conduct and supporting policies, standards, and procedures, including Health and Safety and Environment

  • Synergy Team Leader / Account Manager
  • Customer and Synergy Team members
  • Customer stakeholders: Lab Leads, Compliance, EHS, Quality, etc…

PERSON SPECIFICATION:



Experience and Qualifications

  • Degree in a relevant scientific discipline, for example, chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or equivalent professional experience
  • Expertise in HPLC and other relevant techniques, with demonstrable experience in the analysis of oral solid dose forms
  • Experience of working in a GMP laboratory environment (3+ years)

  • Ability to work efficiently without compromising safety, quality and delivery

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Some flexibility around working hours may be required e.g., early starts, ability to flex hours on occasion
  • Although the job does not require heavy lifting, some lifting, bending, and reaching will be required. The role will involve being active for reasonable periods of time and working across multiple lab areas.
