We're looking for an experienced Senior Applications Analyst to join our client’s Business Applications team and take ownership of a number of key business applications across the organisation.
This is a great opportunity for an Applications Analyst, Business Systems Analyst or ERP-focused professional who enjoys being the subject matter expert for business applications, supporting users, improving systems and working with third-party technology providers.
You'll play an important role in ensuring our applications are well supported, continually improved and aligned with the needs of the business.
The Role
As a Senior Applications Analyst, you'll take ownership of a portfolio of applications, acting as the key point of expertise for how those systems are used across the business.
You'll provide 2nd-line support, manage application issues and work closely with third-party suppliers to resolve problems and deliver improvements. You'll also identify opportunities to make better use of existing functionality and lead enhancements and minor changes through to completion.
You'll work closely with users across the organisation, including through regional visits, support workshops and floor-walking where required.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the subject matter expert for a number of business applications.
- Provide effective 2nd-line application support in line with agreed SLAs.
- Investigate and resolve application issues, working with third-party suppliers where required.
- Manage relationships and regular review calls with application providers.
- Identify opportunities to improve business processes and make better use of existing application functionality.
- Lead enhancements, minor changes and allocated application improvements.
- Support application configuration and system changes.
- Plan and undertake UAT, regression and other application testing.
- Provide go-live and post-implementation support for changes and upgrades.
- Monitor application availability and performance and support optimisation activity.
- Maintain accurate application documentation and knowledge materials.
- Ensure appropriate user training, training documentation and e-learning are maintained.
- Participate in relevant application user communities and share knowledge across the business.
- Work with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective application solutions.
- Make regional visits to support users and understand application issues and opportunities first-hand.
Role Requirements
We're looking for someone with strong experience in business applications, systems analysis, ERP or application support, ideally within a complex business environment.
You'll be comfortable working between technical teams, business users and external suppliers and will be able to understand both the technical capabilities of an application and how it supports business processes.
You'll ideally have experience in:
- Business applications or ERP systems.
- 2nd-line application support.
- Application configuration and minor change delivery.
- Requirements gathering and understanding business needs.
- UAT, regression and functional testing.
- Working with third-party software suppliers.
- User training and technical/business documentation.
- Continuous improvement and identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes.
- Supporting projects, implementations or system upgrades.
Experience with COINS would be beneficial, but we're particularly interested in candidates with strong transferable business applications and ERP experience.
