Job Overview

A Senior Architectural Technologist is required to join a small multidisciplinary practice in Surrey, working on new-build and retrofit projects within education and healthcare environments. Suited to an experienced technical professional or technically focused Architect, the role will lead detailed design coordination across RIBA Stages 4-6, resolve construction issues and support projects through live site delivery.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Produce coordinated RIBA Stage 4 technical information packages
  • Resolve complex construction details during live project delivery
  • Support projects through RIBA Stages 4-6
  • Coordinate consultants, contractors and specialist designers
  • Maintain outputs under ISO 9001 quality procedures

You will work closely with Architects, Building Surveyors and technical colleagues, responding to construction queries and communicating detailed design requirements to site teams.

The position also involves applying Building Regulations, Building Bulletins, HTMs and HBNs when developing compliant technical solutions for school and NHS projects.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong construction detailing and technical coordination skills
  • Detailed knowledge of RIBA Stages 4-6
  • Practical experience resolving live site technical issues
  • Knowledge of education and healthcare guidance
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit LT and SketchUp

You must communicate clearly with clients, consultants, contractors, specialist designers and on-site trades. Experience contributing within a multidisciplinary architectural or built environment team is also required.

The role may suit an Architect whose experience is primarily focused on technical delivery, construction information and later project stages.

Salary & Benefits

  • £55,000 - £65,000
  • Four predominantly office-based working days
  • Home working available on Fridays
