About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Fire Engineering professional to take on a Senior Associate (Team Lead) position within a growing and highly regarded fire engineering team. This role combines technical excellence, project leadership, team management, and client engagement, offering the chance to work on complex, high-profile projects across a variety of sectors.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the development of the London team while leading the delivery of innovative fire engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities Team Leadership
  • Support the day-to-day leadership of the London Fire Engineering team.
  • Manage team workload, resources, and project allocation.
  • Mentor and develop engineers at all levels.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and professional development initiatives.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to support team growth and strategic objectives.
Technical & Project Delivery
  • Lead fire engineering projects from concept through to completion.
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance on complex and non-standard projects.
  • Ensure high-quality deliverables through robust review and quality assurance processes.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Attend and lead client, design, and site meetings.
Programme & Resource Management
  • Support the planning and delivery of multiple concurrent projects.
  • Assist with resource forecasting and workload management.
  • Identify and manage project risks, programme challenges, and delivery pressures.
  • Help ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Client & Business Development
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Support business development activities, including bids and proposals.
  • Contribute to industry engagement and raising the profile of the fire engineering team.
About You
You will be an experienced Fire Engineer with a strong technical background and a passion for developing people and leading projects.
Requirements
  • Proven experience within a fire engineering consultancy environment.
  • Experience leading projects and supporting or managing teams.
  • Degree qualified in Fire Engineering, Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer status preferred, or actively working towards chartership.
  • Strong technical knowledge of fire safety design principles and modelling tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior engineers.
  • Experience managing workloads, resources, and competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and client-facing skills.
  • Collaborative approach with a commitment to technical excellence and team success.
