Our client has built an outstanding reputation for delivering high-quality surveying, design and consultancy services across a diverse range of sectors including commercial, education, healthcare, defence, industrial and residential. As they continue to expand their presence across East Anglia, they are seeking an ambitious Senior Building Surveyor to play a key role in delivering projects, developing client relationships and supporting the growth of the Building Surveying team.

The Role

As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for delivering a broad range of professional and project-led building surveying services, managing projects from inception through to completion while providing expert advice to a diverse client base.

Working closely with senior colleagues and multidisciplinary teams, your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering building surveying projects across a variety of sectors from feasibility through to completion.
  • Preparing specifications, schedules of work and tender documentation.
  • Managing planning applications, building regulations and procurement processes.
  • Administering JCT contracts and undertaking site inspections throughout construction.
  • Project managing refurbishment, alteration and new-build schemes.
  • Coordinating project teams to ensure successful delivery on time and within budget.
  • Managing project finances, programmes and client expectations.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships while identifying opportunities for repeat business.
  • Supporting and mentoring graduate and assistant surveyors as part of their professional development.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider multidisciplinary business.
About You

To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:

  • Chartered membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).
  • Proven post-qualification experience within a consultancy environment.
  • Strong project management and contract administration experience.
  • Sound knowledge of JCT contracts and NBS specification writing.
  • Experience delivering projects across sectors such as education, commercial, healthcare, industrial, residential or defence.
  • A good understanding of project commercial management, including fee monitoring and financial performance.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • A proactive approach to business development and maintaining long-term client relationships.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior surveyors would be advantageous.

Please note that some projects may require successful security clearance, including DBS or UK Government security vetting.
