Senior Building Surveyor

This is an excellent opportunity for a MRICS-qualified Building Surveyor with a strong professional background to take the next step in their career, working across a diverse portfolio of commercial, public-sector and private-sector properties.

As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will provide a comprehensive range of professional Building Surveying services, acting as a trusted adviser to clients and taking ownership of instructions from inception through to completion.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Undertaking building surveys, condition surveys and defect investigations.
• Preparing schedules of condition and schedules of dilapidations.
• Providing professional advice on planned maintenance and lifecycle requirements.
• Preparing specifications, schedules of work and tender documentation.
• Producing detailed professional reports and technical advice.
• Advising clients on building defects, remedial solutions and maintenance requirements.
• Undertaking contract administration and project management.
• Managing refurbishment, repair and maintenance projects from inception through to completion.
• Carrying out project monitoring and site inspections.
• Preparing reinstatement cost assessments and other professional reports.
• Managing multiple instructions and projects while maintaining high standards of service.
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing and new clients.
• Supporting junior members of the team through mentoring, guidance and technical development.
• Contributing to business development and the continued growth of the Building Surveying service.

The successful candidate will be:

• MRICS qualified – essential.
• Degree qualified in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
• Experienced within a professional Building Surveying consultancy environment.
• Confident delivering a broad range of professional surveying services.
• Technically strong, with an excellent understanding of building construction, defects and remedial solutions.
• Experienced in producing high-quality professional reports and specifications.
• Commercially aware, with the ability to manage instructions and projects effectively.
• Confident dealing directly with clients and other professional stakeholders.
• An excellent communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
• Organised and capable of managing a varied workload with minimal supervision.
• A proactive and collaborative team player with a genuine commitment to delivering excellent client service.
