Senior Business Analyst
Dudley Building Society
Senior Business Analyst
At Dudley Building Society, we're proud to be a modern mutual with deep roots in the communities we serve. Guided by our purpose to Help People Live Better Lives, we're focused on making a positive difference for our members, colleagues and local communities through the way we work, the service we provide and the values we live every day.
To help us continue delivering on this purpose, we're looking for a Senior Business Analyst to shape clear requirements, supporting effective change delivery, and helping colleagues make well-informed decisions that improve outcomes for our members, customers and teams. You will personally lead discovery and analysis for complex, strategic, regulatory and technology-enabled change, while acting as the Society's authority on analysis standards and providing assurance, challenge and coaching across the wider portfolio.
You will turn strategic and operational needs into clear, agreed, testable and traceable requirements and solution outcomes. Through early engagement, constructive challenge and high-quality documentation, you will help improve investment decisions, delivery planning, scope control, testing, adoption and benefits realisation, while reducing ambiguity, rework, scope creep, key-person dependency and late discovery of impacts.
This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract with the potential to become permanent in the future.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Leading analysis for complex and material change from discovery through to benefits realisation, ensuring analysis begins early enough to inform feasibility, prioritisation, investment and delivery decisions.
- Owning requirements quality and standards, ensuring requirements are clear, complete, unambiguous, prioritised, feasible, testable and aligned to agreed outcomes.
- Leading discovery and current-state analysis so initiatives are based on a sufficiently complete understanding of customers, colleagues, processes, systems, data, controls and dependencies.
- Defining future-state outcomes and supporting solution design by translating business needs into coherent requirements and measurable outcomes.
- Establishing end-to-end traceability and testability so approved requirements remain connected through design, delivery, testing, implementation and outcome validation.
- Providing high-confidence analytical input to feasibility assessments, business cases, project initiation, estimation and delivery planning.
- Providing assurance and constructive challenge across the change portfolio, identifying ambiguity, gaps, impacts, dependencies, delivery risks and decisions that require escalation.
- Coaching and mentoring Business Analysts and colleagues undertaking analysis activity, building shared understanding of effective discovery, requirements and analysis practice.
- Improving BA methods, templates, quality standards, knowledge management and cross-skilling to strengthen organisational resilience.
- Using evidence and lessons learned to drive continuous improvement in business analysis and wider change delivery practice.
What we're looking for:
- Substantial business analysis experience in regulated financial services, preferably within a bank, building society, lending, savings or comparable regulated environment.
- Demonstrable experience leading analysis on complex, strategic, regulatory or technology-enabled change involving multiple business areas, systems, data sets and processes.
- Strong end-to-end requirements engineering experience, including elicitation, analysis, prioritisation, validation, documentation, approval, change control and traceability through design, build, testing, implementation and benefits realisation.
- Experience providing analytical input to feasibility assessments, business cases and project initiation.
- Experience establishing or improving BA methods, templates and quality standards.
- The confidence to provide constructive challenge, communicate complex information clearly and build agreement across different stakeholder groups.
- Experience of coaching others, supporting knowledge transfer and reducing key-person dependency through documentation and cross-skilling.
- A Business Analyst qualification from BCS, IIBA or PMI.
What you'll get in return:
- Salary of £55,000-£60,000 (depending on experience)
- Intelligent working - split your time between home and our Brierley Hill office;
- 30 days' holiday + bank holidays + "Moments that Matter" days (birthdays, weddings, getting your house keys, welcoming a grandchild - the moments that count)
- Up to 8% pension contribution
- Life assurance at 4× salary
- Full Private Medical Insurance for you and your family
- A healthcare plan for everyday essentials like dental and optical
- Access to our Salary Sacrifice schemes: Cycle to Work and Electric Car schemes
