Description

Senior Business Architect

The Business Architecture Practice is being created to provide architectural leadership across process, people, technology, data and information domains.

The key responsibilities are as follows:

  • Lead and develop a team of Business Architects, fostering a high-performing, collaborative culture and supporting professional growth.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to establish, develop and continuously improve the Business Architecture practice.
  • Define and implement architecture standards, methodologies, frameworks and governance processes.
  • Develop and maintain current-state and future-state business architecture models to support strategic decision-making.
  • Create and embed business architecture artefacts, including business capabilities, customer journeys, service patterns and operating model blueprints.
  • Provide architectural leadership and assurance across a portfolio of transformation and change initiatives.
  • Work closely with Business Analysts, Service Designers, Programme Managers and Technology teams to design effective business solutions.
  • Ensure transformation initiatives align with organisational strategy, target operating models and desired business outcomes.
  • Manage relationships with external partners and consultancies, ensuring quality delivery and value for investment.
  • Influence senior leaders and stakeholders by translating complex business challenges into clear, actionable recommendations and architectural roadmaps.

Profile

Senior Business Architect

A successful Senior Business Architect should have:

  • Strong senior-level experience in Business Architecture within large, complex organisations.
  • Demonstrable experience developing, implementing and continuously improving Business Architecture practices, standards and frameworks.
  • Strong people leadership skills, with experience building and developing high-performing teams. Experience establishing a new capability would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience managing and leveraging external consulting or professional services partners to deliver business outcomes.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences.
  • A strategic mindset combined with a pragmatic, delivery-focused approach.
  • Experience within a regulated environment is advantageous but not essential.

Job Offer

Senior Business Architect

  • Competitive salary of £75,000 to £85,000 dependent on the level of experience.
  • Permanent position in the not-for-profit sector.
