Job Role:

  • Leading the strategic sourcing and procurement of products, negotiating with suppliers to achieve the best value, quality, and service for the business
  • Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships, monitoring performance, and driving continuous improvements to ensure reliable supply and high service standards
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities, analysing market trends, and supporting commercial decisions that enhance profitability while minimising risk
  • Managing new product sourcing projects from initial concept through to supplier selection, contract negotiation, and successful product introduction
  • Collaborating with Supply Chain, Inventory, Product Development, and wider business teams to ensuring product availability, resolving supply challenges, and supporting business objectives
  • Maintaining accurate procurement data, producing insightful reports, and monitoring key performance indicators to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement
  • Supporting the Procurement Manager in developing procurement strategies, improving processes, and delivering efficient purchasing practices that contribute to long-term business growth


Skills and experience:

  • Previous experience within a procurement, purchasing, or buying role, ideally within a fast-paced commercial environment
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and service standards
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems, alongside strong analytical skills and confidence interpreting procurement data
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and supplier relationships simultaneously
  • Confident communicator, capable of collaborating with stakeholders across multiple departments and influencing decision-making
  • Proactive and solutions-focused approach, with a commitment to continuous improvement and delivering positive business outcomes
