The Role
As a Senior Care Assistant / Team Leader, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of exceptional care while providing leadership to the care team throughout the night.
Working closely with residents, families, nurses and colleagues, you will help ensure the highest standards of care are maintained while creating a safe, calm and supportive environment overnight. You will lead by example, oversee the smooth running of the night shift and ensure residents receive outstanding, person-centred care at all times.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supporting the care team throughout night shifts
- Delivering high-quality, person-centred care
- Assisting residents with personal care and overnight support
- Supporting medication administration where appropriate
- Maintaining accurate care plans and documentation
- Monitoring residents' wellbeing and responding appropriately to changing needs
- Ensuring a safe, caring and welcoming environment throughout the night
- Acting as a positive role model and mentor for the wider care team
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience as a Senior Care Assistant, Team Leader or similar role within a nursing, residential or elderly care setting
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (desirable)
- Experience supporting older people with complex nursing needs
- Medication administration experience (desirable)
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- A caring, compassionate and proactive approach
- A genuine passion for delivering outstanding care and supporting others
