Gillespie Recruitment is proud to be working with a well-established care provider to recruit a Senior Care Assistant for a highly regarded residential, nursing and dementia care service in the Gateshead area.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Care Assistant, Team Leader, Care Supervisor, Residential Care Worker, Dementia Support Worker, or Care Practitioner looking to join a supportive organisation where residents truly come first.

You'll play a key role in leading shifts, supporting colleagues, ensuring high standards of care, and helping residents maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading and supporting care teams during shifts
  • Providing high-quality, person-centred care to residents
  • Supporting residents with all aspects of daily living
  • Monitoring resident wellbeing and responding to changing needs
  • Supporting the induction, training and development of new staff
  • Promoting safeguarding, dignity and best practice at all times
  • Working closely with senior colleagues and healthcare professionals

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience within a Senior Care Assistant or Care Team Leader role
  • Experience supporting older adults, dementia care, residential care or nursing care residents
  • Medication administration experience
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • The ability to remain calm and organised under pressure
  • A caring, compassionate and professional approach
  • A genuine passion for delivering exceptional care
  • A team-focused attitude and willingness to support colleagues
