About the Role
We are recruiting experienced and confident Senior Care & Support Workers to work across East Sussex. Applicants can apply for either of the following paths depending on their experience and preference:

  • Senior Healthcare Assistant – adult nursing & residential homes
  • Senior Residential Support Worker – children’s residential homes

Both roles involve leading shifts, supporting teams, and delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care to individuals with a variety of needs. You’ll work flexibly across services, providing stability, compassion, and professional support in every setting.

Key Responsibilities (Adults & Children’s Services)

  • Lead and support staff teams during shifts
  • Deliver person-centred or trauma‑informed care tailored to individual needs
  • Support individuals with complex needs, dementia, emotional/behavioural needs, or challenging situations
  • Provide daily living support (adults) or therapeutic, nurturing care (children)
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with residents or young people
  • Use de‑escalation or behaviour support strategies when required
  • Complete accurate care notes, observations, incident reports, and handovers
  • Support care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour management plans
  • Ensure safeguarding and safety procedures are always followed
  • Promote dignity, independence, and positive outcomes

Requirements

Applicants must meet the criteria for at least one of the following paths:

Senior Healthcare Assistant (Adults)

  • Minimum 6 months UK experience as a Senior HCA
  • Experience with personal care, mobility support, and daily living tasks

Senior Residential Support Worker (Children)

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it)
  • Minimum 6 months experience in a children’s residential setting
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and trauma‑informed practice

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care
  • Medication training
  • Behaviour management or de‑escalation training
  • Experience with complex needs, dementia, EBD, or trauma
