We are looking for an experienced Senior Children's Residential Support Worker to join a residential service supporting children and young people in Stapleford, Nottinghamshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in children’s residential care who understands the importance of consistency, structure, positive boundaries and creating a safe and nurturing environment for young people.
The Role
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will provide practical and emotional support to young people while helping maintain high standards across the home.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting children and young people with daily routines and activities
- Building positive, consistent and professional relationships
- Promoting independence, confidence and essential life skills
- Supporting education, appointments, activities and wellbeing
- Driving young people to education, appointments and activities when required
- Acting as a positive role model
- Supporting and guiding colleagues during shifts
- Managing challenging situations calmly and professionally
- Maintaining accurate records, reports and handovers
- Following care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures
- Helping maintain a safe, structured and nurturing home environment
Essential Requirements
- Level 3 qualification in Children & Young People or equivalent
- Previous experience within a children’s residential setting
- Full UK driving licence and ability to drive
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Experience supporting vulnerable children and young people
- Confidence managing challenging behaviour
- Good communication and record keeping skills
- Flexibility to work day and night shifts
