Safran Landing Systems are looking to appoint a Senior CMM Manufacturing Engineer to support the development, validation and continuous improvement of CMM inspection programmes across the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring robust measurement processes are in place, supporting inspection strategy, programme validation and metrology best practice across manufacturing operations.

This is a highly technical role that will work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations and Quality teams to improve inspection capability, measurement consistency and overall product quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and develop CMM inspection programmes in line with company procedures.
  • Review, validate and approve new and existing CMM programmes.
  • Design and implement fixture solutions to support repeatable inspection processes.
  • Manage programme validation activities across multiple components.
  • Conduct Gauge R&R and MSA studies and analyse results.
  • Support APQP and PPAP inspection deliverables.
  • Provide technical expertise on inspection methods and measurement strategies.
  • Support root cause investigations relating to CMM and inspection issues.
  • Mentor and coach CMM and Inspection personnel.
  • Review and update local inspection procedures and standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within metrology and inspection functions.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Strong CMM programming and programme verification background.
  • Experience using Modus software.
  • Proven experience conducting Gauge R&R and MSA studies.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings.
  • Experience within a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis capability.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Experience with Camio software.
  • Aerospace industry experience.
  • APQP and PPAP knowledge.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers and inspectors.
  • Metrology or quality-related certifications.
Qualifications
  • HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Metrology or similar discipline.
  • Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on CMM specialist with strong programming and validation experience who enjoys improving processes and driving best practice. They will be confident interpreting complex engineering drawings, leading metrology improvement activities and acting as the technical focal point for CMM-related matters across the site.
