Our client, a leading highways service provider, is seeking a Senior Commercial Administrator to join their team working on the Cheshire East Highways.

Purpose of the Role

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Commercial Administrator to support the commercial, operational and finance functions on the Cheshire East Highways.

The role is responsible for maintaining commercial records, managing key trackers and registers, supporting reporting requirements, coordinating subcontract and purchase order administration, and ensuring commercial information is accurate, up to date and readily available.

Working in a fast-paced environment, you will provide essential administrative and commercial support, helping the business maintain effective governance, reporting and contract compliance while supporting informed decision-making across the contract.

What You Will Be Responsible For

  • Supporting the Senior Quantity Surveyors, Commercial Team, Operations Team and Finance Team to ensure compliance with commercial processes and successful contract delivery.
  • Processing, generating, monitoring and administering subcontractor purchase orders, including tracking outstanding or missing orders.
  • Maintaining finance, commercial and performance trackers, ensuring information is accurate, complete and up to date through systems including Dynamics and CEMAR.
  • Managing commercial registers, contractual correspondence, task order records, CSR information, efficiencies and other contract documentation.
  • Preparing and distributing commercial reports and management information for operational boards, commercial reviews and head office reporting.
  • Coordinating reporting on target costs, efficiencies, green claims and other key commercial performance measures.
  • Supporting data management activities and maintaining accurate commercial information within Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Coordinating commercial communications, meetings, document control, audit preparation and governance reporting requirements.

What You Will Need

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and support shared goals and deadlines.
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics and CEMAR would be advantageous.
  • Experience within the construction industry.
  • Commercial or accounts experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams, clients and supply chain partners.
  • A basic understanding of health and safety principles in the workplace.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines.
  • Analytical and methodical approach with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with GDPR requirements.
