A Local Authority in Cheshire is seeking an experienced Senior Communications Officer to join their communications team on an interim basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for a communications professional with strong campaign, PR and stakeholder management experience to help deliver high-profile communications activity across a range of key council services and initiatives.
The Role You will be responsible for planning, delivering and advising on complex and high-profile communications campaigns, ensuring effective engagement with residents, stakeholders and partners.
Key duties will include:
- Planning and delivering strategic communications and PR campaigns
- Managing multiple concurrent campaigns to agreed deadlines and budgets
- Working with a wide range of internal clients and stakeholders to set measurable objectives
- Evaluating campaign effectiveness and reporting on outcomes
- Commissioning creative communications materials, publications and digital content
- Managing reputational risks and responding to sensitive issues
- Providing strategic communications advice to senior stakeholders
- Supporting the development and execution of communications strategies
- Proven experience delivering communications and PR campaigns within a complex organisation
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to identify and manage reputational threats effectively
- Experience commissioning creative communications products and publications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding of strategic communications and how strategy translates into operational delivery
