Position: Senior Construction Manager - Water
Location: Peterborough (Hybrid Working)
Salary Guide: £90,000 - £100,000 Plus Bonus, Car/Allowance & Excellent Package
Our client is a Tier 1 D&B Contractor operating predominantly in the water industry who have been awarded a programme of work to deliver non-infrastructure water and wastewater projects for Anglian Water and they are recruiting for a Senior Construction Manager/Head of Construction to help deliver these projects.
In this role you will oversee the management of quality, cost and timely delivery of all construction activity carried out on multiple sites through the leadership of Site Managers and on-site resources. With over 800 projects to deliver you will work on either Water/Water Recycling Non-Infrastructure or Infrastructure programme areas with responsibility for a programme of work valued at over £150m per year.
Responsibilities will include:
- Lead and develop high-performing construction delivery teams, promoting collaboration, safety and continuous improvement.
- Oversee construction strategy and delivery across multiple complex projects, ensuring they're completed safely, on time and within budget.
- Drive innovation and new ways of working through the supply chain - improving safety, quality and efficiency.
- Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across Anglian Water, delivery partners and external suppliers.
- Lead cost control and resource planning to maximise value and performance across all programmes.
- Champion health, safety, wellbeing, and environmental excellence, fostering a zero-accident culture.
- Promote inclusion, fairness and respect across all teams and partners.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- An experienced construction leader with a passion for delivering complex infrastructure projects.
- Significant experience in large-scale construction management - ideally within the water, utilities or infrastructure sector.
- A deep understanding of construction techniques, engineering processes, and project planning.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire and engage multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven experience managing budgets, contracts, and stakeholder relationships.
- A forward-thinking approach - open to innovation, collaboration and change.
