An established, multi-disciplinary construction consultancy is seeking experienced Commercial & Contractual professionals to join its growing team at either Senior Consultant or Associate Director level.

The consultancy provides specialist services in dispute avoidance, dispute resolution, expert witness support, project and commercial management, programme management, risk analysis, coaching, and training. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex projects and disputes while contributing to the continued growth of a respected consultancy.

The Role

Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will provide high-level commercial, contractual, and dispute resolution services to clients across the construction sector.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing commercial and contractual advice on construction projects.
  • Reviewing and advising on JCT, NEC, and bespoke forms of contract.
  • Supporting clients with dispute avoidance and dispute resolution strategies.
  • Advising on loss, expense, delay, and related contractual matters.
  • Working alongside planning and delay specialists on contentious and non-contentious matters.
  • Assisting solicitors and legal teams in construction disputes.
  • Representing clients in adjudication, arbitration, mediation, and other dispute forums.
  • Delivering coaching and training to clients and project teams.
  • Supporting business development, client relationship management, and service growth initiatives.
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing members of the professional team.

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A construction-related degree, ideally in Quantity Surveying.
  • Chartered status or an equivalent professional qualification.
  • 10+ years' construction industry experience.
  • Strong experience providing commercial and contractual advice, either within a consultancy or contractor environment.
  • Proven experience in dispute avoidance and/or dispute resolution.
  • Excellent knowledge of JCT, NEC, and other standard forms of contract.
  • A strong understanding of construction law and claims management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, report-writing, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Leadership experience and a passion for developing others.
  • Commercial awareness and an interest in business development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with planning/programming software.
  • A full UK driving licence.
