Senior Consultant - Finance Transformation

Hybrid working, with flexibility for UK client travel
Up to c.£70,000 + bonus
This is not a generic digital transformation role. It is an opportunity for a qualified finance professional who can combine technical finance expertise, strategic thinking and hands-on consulting delivery.
You'll join the growing Finance Transformation practice of a major global consultancy, working directly with CFOs and senior finance leaders on complex, enterprise-level programmes. The team helps organisations rethink how their finance functions operate, improve business performance and strengthen the role finance plays in commercial decision-making.
Your work could include finance target operating models, organisation design, core financial process transformation, integrated planning, forecasting, performance management and cost optimisation. You'll help clients understand their challenges, develop practical recommendations and lead the delivery of lasting change.
Alongside client delivery, you'll contribute to the continued growth of the practice through proposals, bids, client development, new propositions and thought leadership. You'll also lead workstreams, build senior stakeholder relationships and support the development of more junior consultants.
You'll likely be a strong fit if you have:
- An ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent accountancy qualification. Passed finalists or candidates with one examination remaining may be considered, provided full qualification can be achieved during the probation period.
- Strong consulting experience within finance transformation, finance performance improvement or a closely related area.
- Demonstrable experience across at least two areas such as finance operating models, organisation design, core financial processes, planning and forecasting, performance management or cost transformation.
- Experience leading workstreams within complex, enterprise-level transformation programmes.
- The ability to provide tangible examples of the challenges you addressed, the work you personally delivered and the outcomes achieved.
- Confidence working with CFOs and other senior finance stakeholders.
- The ability to turn complex problems into clear, commercially focused and implementable recommendations.
- Experience contributing to proposals, bids, client growth or proposition development.
Big Four or equivalent consulting experience would be particularly relevant. Applications from strong in-house finance professionals moving into consulting may also be considered where there is clear evidence of enterprise transformation delivery and strong advisory capability.
Exposure to SAP, Oracle or another major ERP platform would be beneficial but is not essential. Experience with AI-enabled finance solutions, digital finance tools or technology-supported finance transformation would also be an advantage.
This is a strong opportunity to join a successful practice at an important stage of its growth. You'll work on varied, high-profile client programmes, gain visibility beyond your grade and have genuine scope to help shape the team, its propositions and its position in the market.
