What you'll be doing;
- Monitor business performance against budget and KPIs throughout the financial year, producing regular and meaningful reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement
- Provide comprehensive administration support and guidance for all DESA activities, organising workload during periods of sickness and holidays to ensure continuity of service
- Assist in optimising revenue and margin achieved through the DESA contract by identifying operational and administration activities that improve financial performance
- Develop existing and new business opportunities in line with the contract business development strategy, identifying and promoting new service offerings and customers to grow the business
- Problem solve customer requests, ensure service delivery meets their requirements, and provide clear, transparent and accurate reporting of all work undertaken on behalf of the contract
- Select appropriate contractors to deliver services that promote waste hierarchy improvement and minimise environmental impact of haulage, ensuring all tasks are sent to correct recipients in a timely manner and tracked to completion
- Develop and maintain close working relationships with internal and external customers, fostering mutually respectful relations with an emphasis on reliability, health and safety, quality and delivering services to expected contractual KPIs
What we're looking for;
- Education up to A Level standard with strong organisational and planning skills, excellent communication and people skills, and solid numeracy, analytical and IT capabilities
- Working knowledge of the waste industry and proven negotiation skills to effectively manage contractor relationships and customer expectations
- Ability to problem solve and make correct decisions under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy in reporting and documentation
- A degree qualification, IOSH certification, and operational experience of working within a customer-focused environment would be highly desirable
- Familiarity with Veolia systems such as SAP, WIMS and SalesForce would be advantageous, along with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and processes
