This role will join us on a temporary 6 Month contract to support with Paternity leave.
In this specialist role, you'll help ensure our credit risk models are built, maintained and monitored effectively, using your analytical expertise to interpret outputs and provide clear, concise insight to stakeholders across the Society. You'll play an important part in helping the Society manage lending activity within risk appetite and deliver good outcomes for members.
The role
As our Senior Credit Risk Analyst, you'll be responsible for ensuring the Society's credit risk models and credit risk management information are appropriately built, maintained and monitored.
What you'll be doing
- Routinely run the Society's Estimated Credit Loss models accurately and on time, identifying and resolving any anomalies.
- Monitor and report against ECL model outputs, including PD, EAD and LGD, providing clear explanations for movements.
- Maintain full model documentation, including assumptions, validation, sensitivity analysis and data input dictionaries.
- Updates to mortgage affordability model based on latest information
- Work with modelling partners to design and build new iterations of the ECL model and support successful passage through model governance requirements.
- Contribute credit risk inputs to forecasts and stress tests, including ICAAP, ILAAP and Recovery Plan activity.
- Work with Product and Analytics teams to support decisions on product mix and lending plans, considering regulatory limits, expected credit loss and risk appetite.
- Develop, maintain and report against credit risk appetite limits.
- Deliver training and education on ECL models to key stakeholders, translating complex information into clear and practical insight.
What we're looking for
- Experience using R statistical language.
- Experience with IFRS 9 impairment models or similar credit risk modelling approaches.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret model outputs and explain them clearly and concisely.
- Confidence working with credit risk management information, assumptions, validation, sensitivity analysis and model documentation.
- An understanding of expected credit loss, risk appetite, model monitoring and governance requirements.
- A degree-level qualification in maths, statistics or a similar discipline would be desirable.
- A confident communication style, with the ability to present insight to key stakeholders.
