Senior Data Architect (Remote)

Rate: £750-£770 per day (Inside IR35)
Location: UK Remote
Clearance Required: Must have Active SC Clearance & NPPV3
Nationality Requirement: Sole UK National

We're looking for an experienced Senior Data Architect to lead the design and governance of secure, scalable, and resilient cloud-based data solutions within a complex enterprise environment.

This is a senior architectural role focused on AWS cloud platforms, modern data architectures, cloud migration, and technical leadership. You'll work closely with engineering, DevOps, security, and business teams to define strategy, drive best practices, and ensure successful delivery of cloud-native solutions.

• Design and govern enterprise-scale cloud and data architectures on AWS.
• Define architecture standards, patterns, and best practices across cloud platforms.
• Lead architecture activities covering:
  • Data Platforms
  • APIs
  • Microservices
  • Event-Driven Architectures
  • Serverless Solutions
• Provide technical leadership to engineering, DevOps, and data teams.
• Drive cloud migration and modernisation initiatives.
• Ensure solutions comply with security, governance, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead architecture reviews, assurance activities, and design governance.
• Support performance optimisation, operational resilience, and cost management initiatives.
• Engage with senior stakeholders and translate business requirements into technical solutions.

• Proven experience as a Senior Data Architect, Cloud Architect, or Solution Architect.
• Strong AWS expertise across services including:
  • EC2
  • Lambda
  • S3
  • RDS
  • DynamoDB
  • IAM
  • VPC
  • CloudFront
• Experience designing scalable, highly available, and secure cloud architectures.
• Strong understanding of:
  • Data Architecture
  • Data Platforms
  • Cloud Migration
  • Application Modernisation
  • Microservices
  • API-led Architectures
• Experience implementing security controls, governance, and compliance frameworks.
• Strong stakeholder management and technical leadership skills.

• Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
• AWS Well-Architected Framework.
• DevOps and Infrastructure as Code practices.
• GDPR, ISO27001, and PCI-DSS compliance environments.
• Containerisation and cloud-native application architectures.
• Experience leading large-scale transformation programmes.

You'll be a strategic and hands-on architect who can combine deep AWS expertise with strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills. You'll be passionate about designing modern cloud solutions, driving technical excellence, and helping organisations modernise their technology landscape.
