A highly successful and growing organisation is seeking an experienced Data Privacy Specialist to take ownership of its UK&Ireland privacy programme.

This is an excellent opportunity for a privacy professional looking for a flexible, part-time role where they can make a genuine impact. Working across multiple business functions, you will act as the subject matter expert for data privacy, ensuring robust governance, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement of privacy controls and processes.

The Role

Reporting into senior leadership, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day privacy activities across the business, providing practical guidance to stakeholders and ensuring compliance with UK GDPR and EU GDPR requirements.

You will play a key role in maintaining privacy governance frameworks, supporting business change initiatives and helping to align privacy processes across multiple entities within the UK and Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and continuously improve the organisation's UK & Ireland privacy programme.
  • Maintain Records of Processing Activities (RoPAs) and ensure records remain accurate and up to date.
  • Review and support Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for new projects, systems and suppliers.
  • Coordinate Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) and other individual rights requests.
  • Manage data privacy incidents, investigations and remediation activities.
  • Deliver and coordinate privacy training and awareness initiatives across the business.
  • Review and update privacy policies, procedures and governance documentation.
  • Provide expert guidance on data protection risks, compliance obligations and best practice.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across HR, Technology, Operations, Legal and Procurement functions.
  • Drive consistency and continuous improvement of privacy processes and controls.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Significant experience within Data Privacy, Data Protection or a related compliance function.
  • Strong practical knowledge of UK GDPR
  • Experience handling data privacy incidents and supporting compliance activities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach to privacy and compliance challenges.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • A recognised privacy qualification such as CIPP/E, BCS Practitioner Certificate in Data Protection or equivalent.
