Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Highways & Drainage
Leeds
If you're already operating at Senior Engineer level, or you're an experienced Engineer ready to make that step, this is an opportunity to join a Consultancy that's investing heavily in both its people and its future.
With a growing portfolio of infrastructure projects secured across the residential, commercial, industrial, education and energy sectors, the Leeds team is looking for another Senior Infrastructure Engineer to help lead schemes from feasibility through to construction. You'll become a key technical figure within the office, trusted to deliver projects, support clients and help develop the next generation of engineers.
This isn't a role where you'll simply oversee drawings from a distance. You'll remain hands-on technically whilst leading projects, managing programmes, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and acting as a key point of contact for clients, local authorities and statutory bodies. You'll review designs, provide technical guidance, identify value engineering opportunities and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standard.
Equally important is your role within the team itself. You'll mentor junior engineers, help shape technical standards across projects and play an active part in maintaining the collaborative culture that's become one of the consultancy's biggest strengths. The office operates on a hybrid basis, but it's the type of environment where people naturally work together, share ideas and support each other, making it somewhere people genuinely enjoy being.
To be successful, you'll ideally have experience in some or most of the following:
- Leading highways and drainage infrastructure projects from concept through to completion.
- Designing and reviewing schemes using Civil 3D, OpenRoads, PDS, MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage.
- Managing technical approvals including S38, S278, S104, S106 and associated agreements.
- Producing and reviewing Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategies and supporting technical reports.
- Coordinating clients, local authorities, utilities and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Mentoring junior engineers and providing technical oversight of drawings and calculations.
- Working towards, or already holding, IEng or CEng status.
In return, you'll join a business that's experiencing sustained growth, where your opinion is valued and progression isn't dictated by time served. Whether your ambition is to strengthen your technical expertise, develop your leadership skills or progress towards Principal level, you'll be given the support, autonomy and project exposure to get there.
