Senior Design Engineer (Hydraulic Installation)
Location: Peterlee, UK
Position Type: 12-Month Contract (Full-Time, 36.5 hours/week)
Working Hours: Mon-Thu 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Fri 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM (with some flexibility)
Pay Rate: Up to £39.00 per hour Work Arrangement: Fully onsite
About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer to join our Hydraulic Installation team in Peterlee. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design and development of hydraulic installation systems for heavy machinery, ensuring they meet high standards for performance, durability, and manufacturability.
This is a high-impact position involving complex routing, simulation, and close collaboration with global teams, manufacturing plants, and external suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop hydraulic installation systems using Creo.
Perform basic structural analysis and finite element analysis (FEA) using Creo Simulate.
Release new designs and manage engineering changes through Teamcenter.
Manage complex project deliverables on time while maintaining standard work practices.
Coordinate directly with manufacturing/operations teams to resolve design issues and identify improvements.
Collaborate with suppliers on new part designs and revisions.
What We Are Looking For
Minimum Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university (or 25+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree).
9+ years of engineering experience across design, validation, or simulation.
Advanced expertise in Creo Design and intermediate to advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems/machine integration.
Experience performing FEA / Simulation (Creo Simulate / Pro-Mechanical).
Strong communication skills and a proven track record of working effectively in global, cross-functional team environments.
