Salary: £36,000-£45,000 DOE
Contract: Permanent | Full-time
An established, multidisciplinary environmental consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Ecologist to join its growing team. Working alongside specialists in landscape architecture, planning and arboriculture, the company delivers ecological services across a diverse portfolio of development projects, with a strong focus on biodiversity enhancement and sustainable outcomes.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Ecologist to take ownership of projects, develop client relationships and contribute to a collaborative team.

The role:
* Lead ecological surveys, assessments and technical reporting.
* Deliver PEAs, EcIAs, BNG calculations and UKHab assessments.
* Prepare mitigation strategies and protected species licence applications.
* Manage projects, budgets, deadlines and client relationships.
* Provide ecological advice to clients and multidisciplinary design teams.
* Support and mentor junior ecologists.
Requirements:
* Relevant degree in ecology, biology or a related subject.
* Strong experience in ecological consultancy and project management.
* Knowledge of UK wildlife legislation, BNG and UKHab.
* Strong botanical identification skills and protected species survey experience.
* CIEEM membership or working towards it.
* At least one protected species licence, ideally bats or dormice.
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use.
* Full right to work in the UK.
* Living in or within a commutable distance of the Brighton office.
