SENIOR ECOMMERCE EXECUTIVE

ABOUT THE ROLE
As Senior Ecommerce Executive, you will play a key role in the day-to-day trading and optimisation of the ecommerce business, supporting the delivery of the online strategy and taking ownership of key trading activity.
You will work closely with Buying, Supply Chain, Marketing, IT and wider commercial teams to ensure the online proposition is commercially strong, accurately represented and delivering against sales and customer objectives.
The role also has one direct report, giving you the opportunity to provide day-to-day support, coaching and development whilst taking responsibility for your own areas of ecommerce activity.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Take ownership of day-to-day ecommerce trading activity, ensuring the online proposition is commercially optimised and performing effectively.
- Manage and optimise the product lifecycle, including product listings, pricing, availability, content and online presentation.
- Work closely with Buying and Supply Chain teams to ensure product selection, stock availability and pricing are aligned with online trading requirements.
- Plan and execute online promotional activity, using key trends, events, competitor activity and commercial performance to forward plan.
- Monitor external factors and changes in customer behaviour that may impact trading performance and react accordingly.
- Manage website content and merchandising updates, including banners, product descriptions, collections and other onsite activity.
- Analyse sales performance, customer behaviour and ecommerce KPIs to identify trends, opportunities and areas for improvement.
- Use data and insight to make informed decisions around product performance, stock levels, promotions and online activity.
- Work closely with Marketing to optimise category traffic across ecommerce channels, including email, social and affiliate activity.
- Identify and nominate products for marketing activity based on seasonality, performance, customer demand and commercial opportunity.
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends, using insight to influence the online trading plan.
- Work closely with the Online IT/Development team to identify website functionality issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Support the development and implementation of the wider ecommerce strategy, contributing ideas and initiatives to drive online growth and customer engagement.
- Line manage one direct report, providing guidance, coaching, training and support to ensure high performance and development.
- Build strong relationships across the wider business, ensuring effective communication and collaboration between ecommerce and key commercial teams.
ABOUT THE CANDIDATE
We are looking for an experienced ecommerce professional who combines strong commercial awareness with excellent analytical and organisational skills.
You will ideally have experience within an ecommerce trading, online merchandising or digital trading environment and be confident taking ownership of day-to-day online activity.
We're looking for someone who can:
- Demonstrate previous experience within ecommerce, online trading or digital merchandising.
- Have a strong understanding of online customer journeys, product performance and ecommerce trading.
- Use sales data, customer insight and KPIs to identify opportunities and make commercial decisions.
- Have experience managing online promotions and campaigns.
- Understand product listings, onsite content and ecommerce merchandising.
- Be confident working cross-functionally with Buying, Marketing, Supply Chain, IT and other stakeholders.
- Have strong attention to detail and a commercially driven approach.
- Be proactive, organised and comfortable working in a fast-paced trading environment.
- Be confident challenging, influencing and making recommendations based on data and insight.
- Have previous experience mentoring, coaching or line managing others, or be ready to take this next step in their career.
- Have excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships across a business.
