Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a well-established engineering and manufacturing business to recruit a Senior Electrical Design Engineer.

You'll play a pivotal role in leading electrical design activities, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest technical standards while supporting manufacturing, project delivery and continuous improvement.

The RoleAs Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you'll take ownership of electrical design from initial concept through to manufacture, installation and project completion.
Working closely with mechanical design, project management and production teams, you'll ensure designs are practical, compliant and manufacturable, while providing technical leadership across the engineering function.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the electrical design of bespoke engineered solutions from concept through to project completion.
- Produce and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, single line diagrams (SLDs), block cable diagrams (BCDs), cable schedules and I/O schedules.
- Develop equipment layouts and general arrangements using SolidWorks Electrical alongside the mechanical design team.
- Ensure all electrical designs comply with relevant industry standards, including BS7671 and IEC regulations.
- Collaborate with project and production teams to deliver designs on time and in line with customer requirements.
- Support design reviews, technical queries and engineering change processes throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing teams, resolving build issues and assisting during testing and commissioning where required.
- Champion Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Liaise with customers, consultants and key stakeholders to understand technical requirements and provide practical engineering solutions.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, helping to develop engineering capability across the team.
- Contribute to the development of engineering standards, processes and best practice.
- Act as a senior technical point of contact within the engineering department.
We're looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer who combines strong technical expertise with a practical, collaborative approach.
You'll ideally have:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience).
- At least five years' experience within an industrial, manufacturing or bespoke equipment environment.
- Strong knowledge of LV electrical systems, power distribution, control panels and integrated electrical systems.
- Experience using SolidWorks Electrical.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to solve complex engineering challenges.
- A proactive approach with the confidence to lead technical discussions and mentor others.
- Experience working alongside fabrication, sheet metal or enclosure design teams.
- Knowledge of data centre or other critical infrastructure projects.
- Chartered Engineer status, or working towards professional registration.
- Experience carrying out cable calculations.
- Knowledge of ATEX regulations.

37.5 hours per week
- Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 4:00pm
- Friday: 7:30am – 1:00pm
