Senior Electrical Design Engineer in London, Greater London

Our client, a growing Building Services Consultancy, is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their team. This is a fully remote position; however, applicants must be located within a maximum 2-hour door-to-door commute of Central London to allow attendance at occasional client meetings, design workshops, and project reviews when required.

The Role
Working as part of a multidisciplinary design team, you will be responsible for delivering electrical building services designs across a range of commercial, residential, education, healthcare, and mixed-use projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing schemes from concept through detailed design stages.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience delivering projects through RIBA Stages 2-4 (Mandatory)
• Experience within a Building Services Consultancy environment
• Degree, HNC, or HND in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
• Strong technical design experience including:
• Power distribution
• Lighting and emergency lighting
• Small power systems
• Fire alarm systems
• Data and communications infrastructure
• Earthing and lightning protection systems
• Proficiency with industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux/Relux, Amtech, or equivalent
• Good understanding of UK Building Regulations and relevant British Standards
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities

• Produce electrical calculations, specifications, reports, and technical drawings
• Develop and coordinate designs through RIBA Stages 2, 3, and 4
• Attend client, design team, and project coordination meetings
• Liaise with architects, mechanical engineers, and external stakeholders
• Support project delivery within programme and budget constraints
• Contribute to sustainable and value-engineered design solutions

Desirable

• Candidates must live within 2 hours of Central London (door-to-door commute)
