A growing engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Electrical Engineer to strengthen its London team. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects, work directly with clients, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality building services designs across a varied portfolio of developments.

The business works across several sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare, education, industrial and public infrastructure projects, with a strong emphasis on sustainable design and low-energy solutions.

The Opportunity

This role will suit an experienced electrical engineer who enjoys both technical design and project leadership. You will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, collaborating with internal teams, external consultants and clients to deliver practical and innovative engineering solutions.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the electrical design on a range of projects.
  • Coordinating with architects, contractors and other design disciplines.
  • Managing project programmes and ensuring delivery against deadlines.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to junior engineers.
  • Attending client and design team meetings.
  • Reviewing design information, reports and technical documentation.
  • Producing and checking calculations, specifications and drawings.
  • Contributing to design reviews and value engineering exercises.
  • Supporting business development through strong client relationships.
  • Maintaining high technical standards across project delivery.

About You

The successful candidate is likely to have:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Alternatively, HNC/HND qualifications supported by relevant industry experience.
  • Several years' experience delivering electrical building services designs.
  • Experience working within consultancy environments.
  • Knowledge of UK design standards and building regulations.
  • Proficiency with industry software such as Revit, Amtech, Dialux or Relux.
  • Understanding of power distribution, lighting, small power and associated building systems.
  • Awareness of sustainable design principles and low-carbon technologies.
  • Experience coordinating with other engineering disciplines.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Professional membership or aspirations towards chartership would be advantageous.
