The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, a proactive approach, and a commitment to delivering high-quality engineering solutions across sectors such as data centres, pharmaceuticals, advanced manufacturing, commercial, and mission-critical projects. Previous data centre experience would be highly beneficial, although candidates with experience across other large-scale industrial, commercial, or mission-critical projects will also be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and maintain accurate project engineering reports to monitor progress, key milestones, technical deliverables, and deadlines in support of the wider project team.
  • Review and become fully familiar with all design documentation, IFC drawings, specifications, and technical requirements to develop a comprehensive understanding of the project scope.
  • Oversee the design coordination process and work closely with BIM teams to develop detailed installation drawings in accordance with project specifications and programme requirements.
  • Support the installation and delivery teams in maintaining the highest quality standards on site, ensuring all works comply with relevant UK regulations, standards, project specifications, and quality procedures.
  • Review subcontractor and supplier tender submissions to assess technical compliance with the project design intent, specifications, and engineering requirements.
  • Work closely with the project, commercial, procurement, and construction teams to ensure all engineering activities, including procurement, technical submissions, installation, and commissioning, remain aligned with the overall project programme.
  • Manage the technical submittal process, including technical submissions, RFIs, approvals, technical queries, and document tracking, ensuring all information is submitted and approved within the required timescales.
  • Ensure all electrical installations are completed in accordance with project specifications, UK standards, QA procedures, inspection and testing requirements, and commissioning procedures.
  • Coordinate and manage electrical subcontractors and suppliers, maintaining effective communication and ensuring works progress in line with the project programme and weekly coordination requirements.
  • Attend and contribute to design, technical, coordination, progress, and commissioning meetings, ensuring actions are effectively managed and closed out.
  • Identify and implement innovative engineering methods and processes that improve efficiency, quality, safety, and project delivery.
  • Assist with the preparation of subcontractor and supplier tender packages in conjunction with the commercial, procurement, and quantity surveying teams.
  • Support the project team during testing, commissioning, and handover, ensuring all electrical systems are fully tested, documented, and delivered in accordance with project requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working with a recognised electrical contractor on large-scale construction projects.
  • Previous data centre, mission-critical, industrial, pharmaceutical, or large-scale commercial project experience would be advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and technical coordination.
  • Good understanding of relevant UK electrical regulations, standards, specifications, and health and safety requirements.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities within fast-paced construction environments.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in Navisworks and relevant engineering/project document management systems.
  • Good understanding of project planning software, such as Primavera P6, along with experience working within CAD/BIM environments.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, BIM teams, commercial teams, and site management.
